Nordiques Take Home the Sunday Win and Weekend Sweep

The Nordiques took the first 2 games against the New Jersey Titans and were looking to take their 2nd-weekend sweep at home in just as many weekends.

The first period would’ve gone 1 of 2 ways- like it did on Friday with it being offensive period, or on Saturday with no scoring. It was like Friday. The Nordiques only needed 6:51 to get it going when Jack Strauss flipped the puck up to their offensive blue line, Caden Pattison came over, took the body and the puck away from the titans D man and found Tristan Fasig on a back door pass to open the scoring. The titans Evan Werner who would then go on to score a hat trick scored his first one of the game at the 10:57 mark. Off the resulting faceoff at center ice, Isaiah Fox found the puck and found himself with a step. Just like in Saturday’s shootout Foxy had a quick snapshot to the low glove side and a quick response. Just 3 minutes later Cooper Swift joined the offensive rush for a 3 on 2, Swift gave it to Pattison who went low to the pad side on the Titans goalie Berk Berkelive generating a rebound who went right to Tristan Fasig for the goal. 3-1 Nords after 1

The second period was set to faceoff, it was expected to be another offensive battle between these 2 teams however the 2nd period had no scoring. Just 3 penalties- 2 for the Nords and 1 for the titans.

The 3rd and last period of the weekend was underway and just 4:02 into the 2nd Tyler Gaulin recorded his 4th of the season. Just 2 minutes later the titans responded to cut the Nords lead to 2. 5 minutes would go by until they got another. 4-3 Nords with 9 minutes remaining. Could they hold on? The Titans spent the last 9 minutes trying desperately to get one passed Tyriq Outen, however, Outen had the answer for the rest of the Titans shots and the Nordiques defenseman held tight for the win and weekend sweep! Tyriq finished with 33/36 saves and his 4th win on the season.

The Nordiques would improve to 6-1 and move into first place!
