The Maine Nordiques season opener was played at the Androscoggin Bank Colisèe against their rivals in the Northeast Generals
The first period of the season started with an early goal from the Generals at the 7:11 mark. The first period would end with a 1-0 Generals lead.
Nolan Howe and the Nords regrouped at the intermission and were fired up to begin the 2nd period. Connor Wood got the Nordiques first goal of the season on the close support play Dante Pierre fell down but Connor Wood was right there to find it and put it into the back of the net. assist were credited to Dante Pierre and Stephen Perez. Isaiah Fox would add another just seconds later on the power play with assist from Philpott and Stefan Owens. The Nordiques would add a third making it 3 goals in just 1 minute and 3 seconds. They would head to the 3rd with a 3-1 lead
The Nords offense didn’t cool off in the intermission as Reese Farrell would get his first of the season on assist from Aiden Connolly and Tyler Gaulin. The Nords 4 straight goals were answered by the Generals. 4-2 Nords with 15 minutes left in the 3rd. The Nordiques made sure the Generals wouldn’t come back with another goal by getting a goal of their own from the D1 commit Tyler Gaulin. Gaulin was assisted from Reese Farrell and Aiden Connolly. With time winding down the Generals were desperate to come back in the game. They found themselves on the power play and had their goalie pulled for 6 attackers, they kept firing away at Tyriq Outen but Outen who finished with 30/32 saves denied their chances. The Generals kept up the pressure but a turnover lead to Caden Pattison finding the puck and sending it into the empty net for the Nords first win of the season!
